Last year we saw the rise of apps like “cartoon yourself” all the way to “Kanye yourself.” These apps surface mostly on social networking platforms like Facebook, but some brands are developing microsites featuring their own spinoff versions. Pedigree is taking the idea to a new level, and it should be interesting to watch. They’re promoting a product called Dentastix which help dogs maintain their dental hygiene. The alternative to Dentastix, they say, would be to replace your dog’s grill with an actual set of dentures, which leads to some pretty funny possibilities. So they’re running a “denture your dog” application which allows people to upload a photo of their canine and check them out with a fresh pair of dentures. Now that there’s an app to distort photos of your dog, what’s next? Your kids, your best friend, your boss? Time will tell.
